Chamber Music Work of the Day, Installment 10:
"Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)"
for
Brass Ensemble
(Solo Horn, Solo Trumpet, 2 Horns, 4 Trumpets, and 3 Trombones)
(1998, arr. 2006)
"Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)" is a very effective transcription brass transcription of my a cappella choral piece, "Psalm 1". As a composer friend of mine once posted in response to hearing the transcription, the two would work very well performed simultaneously.
I am fortunate to have a demo recording of "Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)" from a reading session courtesy of the New England Conservatory Brass Ensemble conducted by Charles Peltz, and mastered by the late Robert Schuneman of ECS Publishing which publishes both titles. The world premiere performance of "Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)" was given by the Bay Colony Brass conducted by its Music Director and my valued colleague, Patrick Valentino, on May 13, 2018, at Hancock United Church of Christ, Lexington, Massachusetts, with the myself and my family present. Follow the next URL to view a very high quality synthesized scrolling score music video that I created for "Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)" on my YouTube channel. This happens to be the best sounding realization that I have created for any of my works.
Follow the next URL to visit ECS Publishing Group's product page for "Psalm (By the Rivers of Water)"; the full score is Catalog No. 6650, and the parts are Catalog No. 6651.
