Chamber Music Work of the Day, Installment 32:
Quick Tango in Five
for
Saxophone Quartet
(2023)
Created for a call for one-minute scores composed for saxophone quartet and inspired by Argentinian tangos, "Quick Tango in Five" combines dance rhythms, melodic contours, and harmonies often associated with them in 5/8 time. The result is a complete one-minute tango. Were dancers to ever to dance to this they might find themselves moving angularly rather than smoothly! 😊 Play! ¡Sonar!
