Choral(/Vocal) Piece of the Day, Installment 19: Yih'yu l'ratson (May the words of my mouth): Inspired by the famous, unaccompanied passage from Ernest Bloch's Sacred Service, and albeit brief, this is one of the most heartfelt, original tonal pieces I have ever composed. Written in 2001 and published in 2003, this is an original setting of a traditional Sabbath prayer which may be performed in either Hebrew and English. The anglicized transliteration and English translation are my own based on the original Hebrew prayer. It is available from ECS Publishing Group in three versions.
