Choral Piece of the Day, Installment 40: "O Absalom" for TTBB Chorus unaccompanied

Choral Piece of the Day, Installment 40: "O Absalom" for TTBB Chorus unaccompanied: Composed in 2014, the text for "O Absalom" is based on my adaptation of 2 Samuel 18:33 which consists of the epilogue to the story of Absalom, son of King David, who was injured by Joab with three darts through the heart, and was subsequently killed by ten of Joab's armor-bearers. "When David heard that his son had died, he was deeply moved. He went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. As he went, he said, 'O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!'"

The ECS Publishing Group Catalog Number for  "O Absalom" is 7.0696; the duration is ca. 5:25.
