When one of my friends spotted this title on my YouTube channel, he asked me, "Why this?" A fair question, to which I replied to the effect that it was the first piece I ever orchestrated as an undergraduate assignment at The Boston Conservatory, and that I wanted to see what senior citizen Stanley could do with it. I have very good memory where music is concerned. In those days, I was actively concertizing as a vocalist, and I studied this song with my voice teacher, Wesley Copplestone. This is how my orchestration teacher, Christopher Roze, learned of this song, which he ended up liking a great deal.
